Step 1. Understand Basic Navigation

Step 3. Login

  • Type in registered user name in User Name field
  • Press Down Arrow key to Password field
  • Type in password
  • Press Down Arrow to Login button, press OK

Step 4. Search and Select a course to play

  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Course Directory Menu (golf ball over magnifier icon)
  • Select a course from my Recently Viewed Courses (courses that you selected before)
  • Or search any course by Course Name, City, or Zipcode. For name search, you would only need to enter a few letters for wild card matching.

  • Review and select a course from the search result list.
  • Download the entire course information to the mobile. It usually take about 5 to 30 seconds depending on the network traffic.


Step 5. Start a new round

  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Pre-Game Menu (golf ball over green && flag icon)
  • Press OK on Start New Round menu item.
  • A list of tee boxes and yardage available for you to select. Select one and press OK.
  • You are then asked for starting hole. Press OK on Hole# field to view either Front Nine or Back Nine, the press OK to select and press Save.
  • A new round is now created. This round is saved automatically when the application is turned off. It will become the default round next time the application is turned on.
  • Of course you can select any different course to play a new round and overwrite this round.

Step 6. Preview the course

  • Now you can go to Game Menu to preview hole by hole.
  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Game Menu. Please note that GPS is still off and 0 yardage is shown.
  • Select View Green to study the green and its hazards, bunkers, etc.

Step 7. Start GPS

  • Make sure the mobile device is outdoor.
  • Go to Pre-Game Menu, press OK on Start GPS if it is currently OFF.
  • To use GPS feature, you will need GPS credits. Upon account creation, you have some FREE trial credits. You can view your credit balance from Settings -> My Account. One credit can be used for one round within 24 hours.
  • You will be asked to confirm the GPS usage purchase. You can only purchase additional credits from you Internet account
  • It usually takes about 5 seconds to 30 seconds for a mobile device to acquire GPS satellite signals. Be patient.
  • You can turn off and turn on GPS anytime during play to conserve battery or having difficulty acquiring the signals, however, it is not recommended.
  • Try not to close the mobile device clam shell, if any, since most devices shut down running application when the clam shell is closed.

Step 8. GPS Game Menu

  • For most cases, YouCaddy can run by itself for the entire game without needing a single key pressed. It can automatically detect the next playing hole and keep providing yardage to the green while moving along with you. However, there are many features that help you to make the game better.
  • In the event that YouCaddy does not advance the hole automatically, you can use Next or Previous keys to advance to next hole

Step 8a (Option) GPS Game Menu

  • Press OK to "Mark" the current ball position before every shot. The Mark screen appears in 2 seconds to show the distance of the current ball position to the previously marked position. Thus it is used to record strokes for later upload and replay on the internet. Marking is also helpful to determine the actual distance made for a particular shot with a particular club.
  • You can also keep track of the club used for every shot by selecting the Club Used option under Sub Menu in GPS screen.

  • Press View Shot to pre-view the ball path from the current position to the center of the green.

  • Without GPS, you can still review other features like View Green before avery approaching shot.
  • Or keep track of hole score by selecting Update Hole Score


Step 9 (Option). Save Round Played

  • When you finished a round, you can save the round data to the server for later review and sharing with friends/family.
  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Post-Game Menu (golf ball over pencil icon)
  • Select Round Info to review round info.
  • Select Update ScoreCard to update total score.
  • Select Upload Round to upload round data to the server.

Step 10 (Option). Check for any discount tee time, specials, or coupons

  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Book Tee Time Menu (golf ball over calendar icon)
  • Press OK key on Promotions & Deals menu item
  • Select any promotion from the list to view
  • Or search for tee time in your state or other state

Step 10b (Option). Booking Tee Time

  • Select Searcth Tee Time in your state or other state
  • And follow the Book Tee Time process to book a tee time, if available.
  • Click My Reservations to view my online reservations.


Step 11 (Option). YouCaddy Settings

  • Use Right/Left Arrow key to Settings Menu
  • Green Imagei: For quick response, the hole's green image is loaded only when View Green command is pressed by default. However, you can configure to have it loaded automatically every time you advance to a new hole.
  • Hole Detection : For ease of use, the hole detection is set to automatic, leveraging the GPS technology by default. However, if there is no GPS signal or hole detection difficulty, you can always switch to Manual.
  • GPS Time Interval: For optimal performance and battery usage (at least 5 hours), the interval of GPS signal acquisition is set to 2 seconds by default. Depending on your mobile device's battery model, you can adjust it to be faster or slower. But make sure to test it for at least 5 hours for every round of golf.


Step 12 (Option). Replay Your Round on Internet

  • For this option, it works best with Firefox browser. Also, make sure to have Free Google Earth installed.
  • Log onto you Internet account at http://youcaddy.com
  • Select Round History on left command panel
  • Select a round to replay from the list of rounds played.
  • You can enable it to Share with friends and family or keep it private.
  • Click on Google Earth icon to lauch Google Earth.
  • Adjust the Tilt level to have a better view of 3-D than aerial view.
  • Click on Options->Play Tour to replay your round.
